Robert G. Black
Bob Black’s legal career is as impressive as his many academic achievements. He graduated Cum Laude with a BS in journalism from Bradley University in Peoria in 1981, and was then admitted to John Marshall Law School. He served on the John Marshall Law Review and the Order of John Marshall before graduating with distinction in 1985. He was admitted to the Illinois bar that same year.
After serving as a law clerk for the Illinois Appellate Court Fourth District, Bob spent four years working at Hinshaw & Culberton as an associate before establishing a private practice in 1994. He has been the principal attorney at the Law Offices of Robert G. Black in Naperville, Illinois since 1995.
Bob was admitted to the U.S. District Court in 2005, and the United States Supreme Court in 2009. He has been of counsel to Day & Robert, P.C. for over six years, and has engaged in appellate practice before all five Illinois Appellate Districts, as well as the Illinois Supreme Court. Bob has also served as lead appellate counsel on over 200 appeals and at least 80 published opinions.
Along with his thriving law practice, Bob stays actively involved in the DuPage County Bar Association, the Leading Lawyers Network and the Illinois State Bar Association. Bob has also held multiple offices in the Illinois Appellate Lawyers Association.
